Engine, steering and gearboxoil analysis
Oil analysis reveals if the wear on the engine is usual for the age and hours of operation.
It will give you a peace of mind that the engine was serviced in time with good quality lubricants and consumables and still has a lot of life left.
Fuel tank and fuel condition analysis (diesel only)
Contaminated fuel tanks and diesel can lead to blockage of fuel system and engine damage.
It can also cause the engine to stop in a most critical moment (in high seas or docking)
Engine thermal scanning
Thermal image scanning can identify problems in the cooling system, bearings and transmission or blockages in exhaust manifolds and risers.
This type of issues ussualy can lead to major engine damage in the short term.
MMS pre-purchase inspection reports are designed to give you a professional, independent view regarding condition of the intended purchase and to allow you to make the correct choices when deciding or negotiating on the final price. Sometimes the pre-purchase inspection will confirm the boat is indeed what you are looking for and the condition you perceived it to be in. Occasionally the survey may highlight an area of concern that necessitates a re-think on the whole deal! We will give you upon request a quote including the parts and labor in order to address any found issues.
When available (e.g. Evinrude E-tec engine) a report will be downloaded from the engine computer and it will show the full history, including hour of operation, faults and running profiles. We will include with the writen and digital (with pictures) pre-purchase inspection report all the recommended routine maintenance schedule for the specific engine as well as a service quote upon request.
We highly recommend that you arrange the inspection at a boat ramp so we can do a water test as well. Some issues could be only found with water test only (water pressure, engine developing full power, trim operation under load, possible overheating, engine setup. correct propeller size, etc).
